ABOUT
Morgan Marquez was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. At two years old, she began dancing at the same dance studio where her mother grew up. Throughout the years she continued to compete and perform in the non-profit dance company, Dance Motion Performing Company. Morgan was given many opportunities to perform with her dance company, while also pursuing theater. Some of her favorite roles were Mrs. Banks in Mary Poppins, Ariel in The Little Mermaid, and Fiona in Shrek:The Musical.
After high school, she moved out to LA to pursue her BFA in Dance Theater, and even took a summer abroad at the New York campus to better her skills as a performer. During her time at AMDA, she had wonderful opportunities to showcase her devotion to her art and growing understanding of her abilities. Morgan performed in the ensemble of multiple dance productions including Ecstatic under the direction of Tracy Silver, From Our People directed by Gheremi Clay, and Rent as a swing and ensemble member under Donna Drake's direction.
In her time at AMDA she studied many styles of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, contemporary, and heels. Throughout Morgan’s training, she gained a better understanding of her facility and continues to cultivate both her technique and performance skills. Morgan focuses on building characters and composing an ambience of playfulness and connection. Outside of dancing, Morgan enjoys facetiming her younger siblings, reading, cooking, watching films, and hanging out with her cat. She cannot wait to begin her career and plans on auditioning for every musical and film that comes her way. Here's to the future!
